| Initiates Club The Initiates Club, is currently based in the Salford District of the Masonic Province of East Lancashire. It was formed to help Brethren newly admitted to the Craft, learn about our Order, experience different rituals, and enjoy the pleasure of visiting other Lodges.

Freemasonry in the District of Salford is based at Hemsley House, 41, the Crescent Salford. Comprising of some 25 Lodge’s the oldest of which dates back to 1799.
In general Lodges meet once a month most during the evening between September – May, few Lodges in Lancashire operate during the summer. Most Lodges meet during the week, with the occasional Lodge meeting on Saturday, never on a Sunday or Bank Holiday there are also Lodges, which meet during the day.
The activities of Freemasons are wide and varied, on the social side we have great dinner dances, there are golf competitions, motorcycle clubs, caravan clubs and much more. Many are involved on charity and community work.
Our social activities support many charities, besides the national charities, whose links can be found on this site; local charities are also supported such as, St. Anne’s Hospice, Broughton House and the Rainbow Trust.
In January 2010 the President of The Freemasons' Grand Charity has released an emergency grant of £20,000 to the British Red Cross and £10,000 to Plan International, in response to the recent devastating earthquake in Haiti.
