The Initiates Club is currently based in the Salford District of the Masonic Province of East Lancashire. It was formed to help Brethren who are newly admitted to the Craft learn about our Order, experience different rituals and enjoy the pleasure of visiting other Lodges.

If you are a visitor and would like to join this club, use our resources, join in the Forum, or would like to know more about becoming a Freemason, then please contact us through the New User box.

Hemsley House.
Salford Masonic Hall, 41, The Crescent Salford.

Freemasonry in the District of Salford is based at Hemsley House, a purpose built Masonic Hall dating back to the 1930's. There are 25 Craft Lodges based here, the oldest of which dates back to 1799, as well as Royal Arch Chapters, Mark Lodges and some other orders.
Most Lodges meet in the evenings, once a month , between September and May. Lodges generally meet during the week, with the occasional Lodge meeting on Saturday, but never on a Sunday or Bank Holiday. There are also some Lodges which meet during the day for the convenience of their members

The activities of Freemasons are wide and varied. In addition to Lodge meetings we enjoy an extensive social life which includes dinner dances, golf and bowling competitions, clay pigeon shooting, holiday weekends, motorcycle clubs, caravan clubs and much more.

Our social activities help to support many charities. Besides the national Masonic charities, whose links can be found on this site, many local charities are also supported such as St. Anne's Hospice, Broughton House and the Rainbow Trust. In addition we support many local community projects.

Some examples of the extent of Masonic help include £50,000 to assist the victims of the London bombings and £50,000, in support of victims of Hurricane Katrina.

To see what help was given to the victims of the 2004 Tsunami, have a look at the Grand Charity website:
